Diotima’s Resort 2023 Lookbook Honors Dance Hall With Patra And Queen Carleen

For her Diotima Resort 2023 collection New York-based designer Rachel Scott tells Vogue that she started the collection with the intent of creating the perfect batty riders, (Jamaican patois for hot pants) and sequin mesh dress. The result is very chic and sensual assortment of 35 looks ranging from mesh tops, and dresses to pant suits.

As native of Jamaica, one of Scott’s goals with Diotima is to center Caribbean craftmanship by working with women artisans in Kingston. In honoring the culture of dance hall, the lookbook features dance hall artist Patra and Dancehall Queen Carleen.

Rachel Scott, whose resume includes design roles for Costume National, J.Mendel and Rachel Comey where she is currently VP. of Design, launched her Diotima label in January 2021 and quickly became a favorite by a community of fashion forward-women in New York Notably fashion editors Marjon Carlos, Chioma Nnadi and Aria Hughes. Current Diotima collections are available at Ssense, Moda Operandi and Diotima.world.
